The Protagonist

Miyamoto Musashi

Miyamoto Musashi arrives in Kyoto determined to take his next steps in mastering the way of the sword and proving himself a warrior without equal. Genma set upon him. Only after he is granted an Oni Gauntlet does he stand against them. That gift troubles him, because the way of the sword is supposed to be walked on one’s own strength. The rest of the campaign is the bloody, meandering path that follows.

A Mifune face on a young Onimusha

Capcom built this Musashi as a fierce young samurai moving from one bloody fight to the next. To cement that image, the studio turned to Toshiro Mifune as the face model. The official character page states that choice in plain language and links Mifune Productions. It is a period-film face, not a generic anime lead, and it is the reason this Musashi looks like a specific man the moment a trailer still appears.

English voice Kenichiro Thomson. Japanese 細谷 佳正. Those credits are the only performance facts on the official page. There is no published height, sword length, or hidden stat block. Treat the character as a swordsman with an unwanted Oni Gauntlet, not as a spreadsheet.

Gameplay verbs that belong to him sit on the Oni Gauntlet page: one-handed and two-handed cuts, Parry, Deflect, Issen, Oni Armaments, Oni Vision, Oni Strength, Oni Agility, and Oni Awakening. This profile does not repeat those systems. It only names the man who uses them.

The gauntlet he does not want

Musashi comes to Kyoto to prove he is unmatched with a sword. Genma jump him. The Oni Gauntlet is the only reason he can stand. That gift is also the insult: the way of the sword was supposed to be his own strength. The campaign is the path through Malice-twisted Kyoto while that argument runs in his head and in the voice from the iron.

Everything he swings — Issen, armaments, Oni Vision, Awakening — belongs to that artifact. The man still wants it off. Read the Oni Lady’s page for the other half of the bond, and the demo page for the first hour you can play before buying a SKU.
